The idea for Step 3 sprang from a School of Motion assignment which was loosely based on the Underpants Gnomes. I wasn’t terribly thrilled with the art assets or typography we were given to work with, so I decided to start from scratch. After a brief brainstorming session, we came up with a different approach that we felt would add a bit more depth. I wanted the illustrations to have a child-like simplicity with mono-weight lines and broad, flat colors.

All of the assets and typography were created in Adobe Illustrator and were prepped for final animation in After Effects.
